- How old were you when you first drove a car? Where did you go the first time you drove? Was there anyone in the car with you? How did you feel--scared, excited?
- How did you learn to drive a car? Did someone teach you or did you teach yourself? Did you take any courses to help you learn how to drive? Describe these experiences.

- When you started driving regularly, whose car did you use? What kind of car was it? What color was it? Were you able to drive it whenever you wanted to? Did you have to pay for gas or upkeep?
- When did you get your first car? Did you buy it yourself or was it a gift? Describe it. What were your feelings about the car? Was it your dream car or just something to get around in?
- What other cars did you own over the years? How many cars did you own at one time? What made you purchase the cars you did? Was it because of where they were made? Money? Looks? Brand?
- What about driving changed since you first drove? The speed limit or seat belt laws, for example? How are cars, roads, gas, or traffic lights different?
- Did you ever have your driving privileges taken away? If yes, describe the situation and how you handled it.
