Of the major Commercial Online Service Providers Family Tree Maker only knows how to work directly with America Online. To use the Online button in Family Tree Maker through any of the other Commercial Online Services, such as Prodigy, CompuServe, etc. you must have installed Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer and must be able to use that combination outside of Family Tree Maker in order to use them from within Family Tree Maker.

Note to WebTV users: The Family Tree Maker Online button cannot be set up to work with Web TV online services. Because these service work through your TV and not through your computer, we cannot set up a link between Family Tree Maker and this type of online service. Furthermore, because of WebTV's inability to accept cookies, you will not be able to access Family Tree Maker online services or features that require your computer to accept cookies (i.e. subscriptions to CDs, subscriptions to the Genealogy Library, online purchases, etc.).
