Retired March 23, 1864. Married Lucy Alice Murrell, 1864. Married 2nd time and went West to Oregon, California and Wyoming, where he was a federal land inspector. Died November 15, 1901 buried in Loundon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.
