John Fauntleroy Brockenbrough (son of William Austin Brockenbrough, Dr. and Mary Carter Gray)^{54, 55} was born December 23, 1842 in Richmond, Virginia, and died February 02, 1935 in Mullin, Texas⁵⁶. He married Mary Buckner Bissett on 1875.

Brockenbrough states his age to be 67 years old on the 23rd of December, that he was born in Virginia but has lived in the State of Texas for 43 years and lived in the county of Mills "ever since its organization in 1887" (Note from Compiler, that was 26 years) His occupation was listed as a Farmer. He joined the Confederate States Army on April 1st 1864 and served til close of the war. He was in Co. C. Youngs Howitzers Co. Maurey's Battalion serving with the artillery and his rank was private.
