Graduate Medical College of Virginia. Enlisted in May 25, 1861 in Company K in the 40th Virginia. Made Asst. Surgeon July 19, 1861. Surgeon January 13, 1863. Amputated his brother's leg after Chancellorsville. Absent sick January 01, 1864. Made Major in charge of various hospitals in Virginia. Post-War Epis. bishop. Died May 28, 1897 at midnight, of heart disease.
